North Dakota Society for Respiratory Care

Welcome to the North Dakota Society for Respiratory Care website.  The NDSRC is a proud affiliate of the American Association for Respiratory Care.  We are committed to our profession and fellow therapists in the state.  Our goal is to keep you up to date with changes in the profession, legislative issues affecting respiratory care and above all else, issues that impact the patients we serve.

The NDSRC is involved at the state and national level to represent the therapists in North Dakota and advance the profession.  Important issues the board is involved with include educational opportunities, legislation, keeping up to date with our licensure board, membership, and communication with therapists in the state.  The NDSRC is sponsoring reimbursement for approved professional examinations for those current NDSRC (current AARC membership) interested in personal professional enhancement to promote the advancement and continued development of the profession.  Please see the link on the website for more information.  If you have an interest in being involved with the NDSRC, please contact a board member.  There are positions that open on the board every year and also a variety of committees with available positions.

The Political Advocacy Contact Team (PACT) is a vital part of maintaining and advancing the profession at a state and national level.  Our PACT is lead by Val Thomhave and Sandi Sanford.  They have done an excellent job coordinating our efforts in North Dakota and are both incredibly dedicated to making sure as a profession we are doing everything we can to advocate for patients.  The PACT’s strength is in members like you.  We need the continued support of the Respiratory Care Practitioners in the state to be involved.  It is a fundamental professional commitment each of us can make to help the patients in North Dakota get the services they need by a respiratory care practitioner.

It is critically important for all of us to belong to our national organization, the AARC.   This organization continues to be a patient focused group, providing education and staying involved with legislation that affects the profession.   This organization represents you and the stronger the membership, the stronger the organization.  There are many benefits to being a member.  There are many resources available involving policies, education, webcasts, discounts, career options, clinical practice guidelines, protocol resources, coding and reimbursement issues, insurance programs and much more.  Please see aarc.org for more information.

Sincerely,
Joy Snyder, RRT
President, NDSRC
